A majority of House Republicans joined together Monday in a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) taking aim at the "ill-considered effort" to force market transitions "under the guise of mitigating climate change." Led by House Energy and Commerce Committee chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Wash.), 151 GOP representatives signed their names in opposition to EPA proposals on emission standards for vehicles come model year 2027. Joined by members of leadership that included Majority Leader Steve Scalise (La.), Majority Whip Top Emmer (Minn.), and Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (NY), the letter to EPA Administrator Michael Regan called out President Joe Biden's administration's efforts to "commandeer America's transportation sector" by regulating away the choice of American's with no discernible benefit.
