The Durham Report released a few days ago is not, at this juncture, revelatory but it is nonetheless an unpleasant read. It is yet another example of our government getting way, way out-of-hand. Here is the opening sentence of the conclusion tot he Executive Summary: Based on the review of Crossfire Hurricane and related intelligence activities, we conclude that the Department and the FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report. That's a bit of a soft sell, but government speak always is. The point is our government is not doing its job, and not in a small way either. Not fixing potholes is a problem.
