Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi was among the parade of Democrats who rejoiced after the news broke that a New York City grand jury had indicted former President Donald J. Trump but her reaction was evidence of her ignorance - or flagrant disregard - of the key tenet that is the very foundation of the U.S. system of justice. Pelosi took to Twitter to cheer the good news but claimed that Trump did not enjoy the presumption of innocence, the longstanding bedrock principle that a defendant is innocent until proven guilty, a topsy-turvy distortion of a system that has been completely hijacked by Democrats
