Gas stoves for me, but not for thee? That seems to be the stance New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has taken as the governor looks to outlaw new gas stoves by 2025. The Democrat quietly unveiled the "New York Housing Compact" during her State of the State speech earlier this month, a plan she hopes to get approved in the state budget due April 1 that "would ban gas stoves, hot water heaters and oil furnaces in both new home and commercial construction by the end of the decade," according to the New York Post. Yet, as the newspaper noted, Hochul uses gas ranges "at the Executive Mansion as well as her private home." "The governor's push to ban gas stoves appears to be as hypocritical as it is ridiculous," Assembly Minority Leader William Barclay (R) said, according to the Post.
