Germany just broke its record in excess deaths since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, despite being one of the most vaccinated countries in the world. Data from the German Federal Statistical Office shows all-cause age-adjusted mortality in the country in the last week of 2022 was 37.2% higher than in the beginning of the year. In fact, the agency's graph shows excess mortality is higher in Germany now than at any point since the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Notably, Germany has one of the highest COVID vaccination rates in the world with 76% of the population taking at least two doses of the experimental mRNA jab. Why is Germany experiencing such high overall excess deaths despite its high rate of vaccinations? Contrast that with African countries, which have seen a much lower death rate since the pandemic despite having the lowest vaccination rates in the world.
