Iowa GOP Sen. Joni Ernst said that Midwesterners in the U.S. were recently given the "middle finger" by the Democratic National Committee when they voted to move the first-in-the-nation state in the presidential sweepstakes from Iowa to South Carolina. During an interview on "Fox News Sunday," Ernst said that she was disappointed in the DNC's decision to remove Iowa's caucus as the party's first contest in 2024. "We have seen a number of pushes in the past to change this," Ernst told host Shannon Bream during the interview. "I'm glad that Republicans are staying the course. I feel Democrats have really given Middle America the middle finger."
